Unless you’ve been living under a rock, Frozen 2 is to be released later this year. While I’m not looking forward to having the latest Disney song stuck in my head for months, I am looking forward to some inspiration for my daughter’s next birthday party.
When the original Frozen was released, we spent months belting out Let It Go from the tops of our lungs and when her 2nd birthday came around, it seemed logical to base the day around her favourite Disney princesses.
Food is central to any good party so here are a few ideas for Frozen-themed party food. This is a mix of healthy snacks and indulgent party food. The white-chocolate covered strawberries were a particular favourite! My daughter and I had fun making the cupcakes the day before too. The Melted Fjord is just lemonade with a few drops of food colouring. We served the Sven Snacks with houmous. Kristoff’s Ice is just little shots of blue jelly.
Decor & Games
We bought these cheap cardboard masks from eBay and the kids loved them. For games, we bought a bag of fake snowballs and had a big bucket for the kids to aim them into. And what self-respecting Frozen-themed party would be complete without a sing-a-long.
For decor, we got stick on snowflakes for the windows and blue streamers. We also had these great cardboard cut-outs for our guests to take photographs with.
While I would love to take credit for this cake, I cannot. We had a fabulous local baker make this for us using our daughter’s Anna doll. The bottom half of the doll is wrapped in clingfilm and inserted into a cardboard tube in the centre of the cake. The entire skirt is edible!
